E169 Modem Replaces the E169G Dongle

3 Mobile have is replacing the popular Huawei E169G modem with the improved E169 modem. This is a bit confusing, but I will attempt an explanation!


What's the difference you ask?

Well the basic difference is that the E169 has a memory card slot! So the E169 3gmodem is ideal if you would like to store data on your 3g dongle aswell as using it as a modem. Unfortunately this modem costs a bit more money than the old E169G.


If you don't want to use the memory slot then I recommend the E160 USB stick modem (shown above), which is free on all deals apart from 12 month broadband lite contracts, but it has no memory slot.

If you like all things black and not the generic cream colour, this could be for you. Especially to match your black laptop when out and about.

This modem can reach speeds of up to 3.6Mbps and is simpler to use than older modems as the software is on the device, so you simply plug & go!
